The new spring 2009 show guides are now in the mail... in fact, chances are good several of you already have them in your hands!
You'll be impressed with what you find when you get it... never before have we listed so many shows in so many places... in one book. With this expansion to include events throughout the entire eastern USA there's just no reason to not to have a show any time of the year!
If you however you choose to just participate in events in a regional or local lever, it's still just as easy to find those shows and there are plenty of them!
If your subscription is current, then you can also go to the subscriber only portion of our website and have access to all the information right away! If you've expired, then just renew your subscription at www,artandcrafts.com/subber.html and we'll provide access to the online information right away while we get your book in the mail the same day in most cases!
Have a great day... and good luck at all the shows you do this upcoming season!
Dan Lewis/ Where The Shows Are!!!
The new Spring 2009 to Winter 2010 show guide will be going out in the mail very soon! If you're a subscriber, get ready for this new issue, because we've made some substantial changes I think you'll really appreciate.
We're incorporated quite a few shows and areas that we used to divide between two guides... the Southeast Guide and the Mid Atlantic guide. Everything you'll need is now in one book. Of course for those of you who want to only do shows in a more limited area, that's available too. Because the book is divided into several sections... each one covering one state... you'll be able to hone in on just those events you're most interested in participating in. On the other hand if you're free to travel a bit, then you'll find thousands of shows to investigate!
We're excited about this new guide... and it will be available on line to preview very soon! If you want to sign up to get the new book just go to www.artandcrafts.com/subber.html
Have a great day!

Where The shows Are!!!
It's hard to believe... but it's time to publish another edition of "Where The Shows Are!!!"
Of course that means we have to include a lot of new information... and you can help!
- If you sponsor a show, them please get your newest show information to us right away so you can be sure to be included! Since we're expanding to include the whole eastern USA in this next edition, we'll need LOTS of new shows!
- If you're an exhibitor... and you know of some good shows we don't yet include... please let us know! We think we do a decent job of research, but YOUR help is always appreciated.
- Another area we could use your thoughts about is our "TOOLS OF THE TRADE" section. I always like to include information about new tools or techniques... or even some fresh thoughts on tried and true ideas.
Whatever you'd like to contribute, just send me a quick email to dan@artandcrafts.com
Have a great day and I'll look forward to seeing you... at the shows!
The winter 2009 edition of Where The Shows Are!!! is now available! Sign up for yours TODAY!
Just give us a call at (386) 428-0173 OR go online at www.artandcrafts.com/subber.html
Have you visited our "Show Shots" section yet? Check out pictures of events we visited!
I'll make sure to post some pictures on our main website under the "Show Shots" section, but I was really impressed with what a nice show the Kiwanis put on for this Sunday Only event! There was a great selection of work... definitely a quality selection... and a really nice crowd all afternoon.
We'll give a complete review in the next edition of our show guide... but this show is definitely a keeper for next year! We'll look forward to their spring event too and I hope it's just as good.
Dan
As much as we try... we can't be everywhere! But we would like to provide as much information as possible about all the events happening around the Southeast! That's why we'd love to have your input about the events you've participated in too.
Just start a BLOG on your page... or if you'd like, you can email the review to me (Dan Lewis) at dan@wheretheshowsare.net and I'll post if for you.
Having trouble posting pictures, ads of other information on the site? Let me know and I'll try to help you!
Have a nice Thanksgiving holiday... and good luck at your shows!

Where The Shows Are!!!
Like everyone else who is actively involved in the art & craft shows, most of us were anxious to see how The Harvest at the Dade Youth Fair in Miami would do this year since it's the first year Buckler Promotions have handled the event.
We'll follow up with a complete review and some great pictures in the next print edition of the guide... but you'll be pleased to know that the event went off without a hitch and with the exception of a few isolated exhibitors, everyone seemed quite pleased with both the crowd and the sales! It was really nice to see such a busy show even though the economy in Florida is obviously in the doldrums.
Great Job! Keep up the good work Bucklers! We'll be anxious to see how things fair next year... in what we all hope will be a much better economy.
This previous Friday was the first time I've ever been to the Augusta, GA Christmas in the South show at the James Brown Arena and I when I made the decision to go, Russ Hunt of Carolina Shows had told me it was a "Decent" show.
I'll write a full show reveiw in the next issue... but after attending the event... seeing all the customers really BUYING... it was definitely a welcome relief from some of the other mediocre events we've been to this fall.
A big congratulations to the entire staff at Carolina Shows!
If you're thinking of going a bit further north at all, you'll want to also consider the shows from Patty Wagstaff and Virginia Show Productions. I haven't personally been to any of the shows lately but I still keep hearing great reviews and any time I have attended it's absolutely been worthwhile!
Dan

If you haven't given these area's some consideration in the past... now may be the time to do it!

If you're looking for a real up and coming show, this year you ought to give some thought to the Butterfly Festival in Oviedo, FL. The event takes place at the Lukas Nursery (one of the largest in the greater Orlando Area) and this year the organizers have gone all out to make sure it's a good show. They've been advertising on radio, on TV, by email and the show will be featured in the Orlando Paper the weekend of the event.
Of course no ones knows how the final tally will be with this or any other event... but I think the key ingredients are there for a decent show. If you're interested give a call to Mike Rich at 407-365-6163
Lake Mary - Heathrow Art Festival - November 2007

St. Augustine Lions Club Seafood Festival March 9, 2008

The Lakeland Spring Obscession show took place on Saturday March 8 & 9, 2008. The morning was quite cold and windy having just followed one heck of a rainstorm the night before. You can imagine I was a bit hesitant to go... but I fired up the old VW and headed down the road anyway.
The show wasn't a gigantic event... and it's split between some gardening oriented crafts, a little art and quite a few plants. It's really a more of a "green market" sort of concept. Whatever you decide to call it, the results seemed to be quite good! There were plenty of customers to go around and just about everyone seemed to be buying here at the show. The only complaints I heard were from the Shave Ice guys. You just don't sell a lot of shave ice in 45% weather! They did have a great sense of humor though... and told me they were considering switching to hot chocholate later in the day!
If you sell a garden oriented craft OR deal in plants of any kind... this is a nice little show to consider!
Dan Lewis
